2006. The island of Fuerteventura, being one of the Canary Islands, is more or less guaranteed good weather. Just what me & Vicky wanted - it's fairly quiet, good beaches, good weather, excellent hotel (all inclusive 5*) and great food & drink. We've booked for same time, next year, but we're trying the north of the island.
The Hotel Jandia Princess - everything you want here.
View of the beach (VV LONG BEACH TOO!)
Spent loads of time here
The COCO LOCO BAR !!

It's Fuerteventura again, but the north side, to Corralejo.
Corralejo has more to do than Jandia - both places we'd go to again - going back to Jandia (same hotel) in September. It has a lovely harbour (above) fronted by eating places & bars. Made the Talk of the Town (below) our local - think they're glad we came home as I won the music quiz every night - anybody want a T Shirt !
Took a day out to visit Lanzarote on the boat - nice trip where you see the fish Herring ???) from the bottom. Next time we'll pay a visit to Lobos, which is pictured above. All in all a very nice time at Fuerteventura.

Thought we'd try the Channel Tunnel, so went to Bruges for a few days - lovely place, but damn cold - needed another hat !
DEC 2007
Stayed 1 night at Folkestone, with the Tinsel & Turkey mob - a very ageing process !
Customs & going down to the train - brilliant !
Stopped off at Dunkerque - this is a plaque on the beach remembering Operation Dynamo (I think)

FIRST VISIT TO GRAN CANARIA
September 2010
Thought we'd try Tenerife this time, so off we went to Playa de las
Americas. Still feel we prefer Jandia, even though the Jerries piss you off !
Little bridges like this made it a
really quaint place.
Enjoyed a trip to Puerto Mogan - little
venice.
Puerto Rico - 1 side was a bit commercial, but
the other side, the port, is really nice.
Riu Vistamar, Amadores - a really nice hotel
high up between Amadores & Puerto Rico.
View of Amadores from the hotel - the
road to the beach was v v steep, but that didn't bother me,
as I jogged up & down it -NOT !
Never to be one to miss a Beatles connection,
the Yellow Submarine, in the harbour - went on market day.
Quite a convincing 'metal man' on the harbour
wall.
